After a long day of work, there’s nowhere quite like home. Yet, many employees opt for hotel accommodation that’s often more costly, less convenient, and nowhere near as comfortable. Let’s look at some of the reasons why self-catering reigns supreme for those seeking a cosy retreat.
A space all your own
If you’re on a long-term job (or even a short-term one!), a hotel room just doesn’t quite cut it – nobody wants to have their sitting room at the end of their bed, after all. And when is the TV ever really functional? While a city centre guesthouse may have appeal for a couple of days, after that it can get a little tiresome.
Instead, self-catering accommodation gives you that all-important space to relax and unpack all your home comforts (although we do have plenty of those already!). Outside space is also a huge bonus – especially when the weather allows for a delicious BBQ.
Keep up with your routines
Just because you’re travelling, it doesn’t mean your routines should be put out of sync. By choosing a home away from home, you can live like a local and take advantage of walks, runs and outside space, making it easy to stay in shape. Here at Wressle Grange, lots of our guests enjoy the 5k run around the village, whilst others bring their own kit to use in the spacious garden. There are also local stops such as The Oaks golf club and gymnasiums with everything you could ever need.
While you’re ‘on the road’ it can be tempting to eat out all the time, leading to that inevitable guilt later on. However, all our accommodation has its own kitchen space, so you can dine in and enjoy your own recipes whenever you choose. We can also recommend some delicious local eateries if you fancy a ‘cheat night’.
Our superfast broadband ensures that you can scroll without limits – whether you’re connecting with family, colleagues, or your favourite show. For longer term stays, our Annabel’s cottage is equipped with a washing machine too.
A private sanctuary, but not isolated
One of the best things about self-contained accommodation is the privacy and peace of mind – something you just can’t pay for elsewhere. We have lots of off-street parking which is a much safer alternative to hotel or public parking. In addition, you can dine where and when you like – without having other guests listen in to your calls.
At Wressle Grange, you’re perfectly situated in the peaceful countryside, yet just a stone’s throw away from fantastic transport links, including the M62. This means you can easily head towards York, Leeds, Beverley, Hull, Doncaster and beyond for work.
